Welcome to the Telford Methodist Circuit! We are really pleased that you have taken the time to look at our website.
We are a family of twenty churches , large and small, scattered around Shropshire. Our churches are very different in size and location; some are in market towns, some are in villages, and others are in the new town of Telford, but we are united in our desire to serve God and serve our communities.
Due to the current Government restrictions around the Covid Pandemic, all churches have been told to close (except for private prayer). The Circuit is continuing to offer online services each Sunday and details can be found in the News and Events section of this website and on the Plan in the Documents section of the Home page.
Once it is safe to do so, we look forward to returning to regular Sunday Worship as well as mid-week services, Messy Church, Bread Church and a range of other activities for you to visit. You can be assured of a warm welcome across the Circuit. As you explore this website further, I hope you find something to interest you.
Our Circuit is steeped in history--industrial history, with Ironbridge and Coalbrookdale, the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution at our centre, and Methodist history, because our founder, John Wesley was a frequent visitor to the area in the eighteenth century. He often came to visit Rev John Fletcher, Vicar of Madeley and an early Methodist. But we are also forward-looking, seeking to show that the gospel is relevant in the 21st century and seeking new ways to share the good news of Jesus Christ in our part of the world.
We are part of the Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury Methodist District. We have four Local Ecumenical Partnerships in the Circuit, one with the Church of England and three with the United Reformed Church.
We are also proud to have a Methodist/Anglican school in our Circuit. We support the John Fletcher of Madeley Primary School by providing a Schools Worker and the Circuit is represented on the school governing body.
